Just a little about us…

Family Run Business

Established in 1994 we’re a family owned company.  Our head office is based in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and hosts our brilliantly creative team who design all our bespoke prints for you every day.

Bespoke Prints

Our heritage and affinity with the countryside allows our team to design collections inspired by our surroundings, using colour and shape to create our well-loved signature Mistral style.

Scandinavian Inspiration!

Scandi Vintage

Every print and piece of clothing we design at Mistral Head Office has been created by an expert team of designers, from print right through to production.  This week we have launched our brand new collection ‘scandi vintage’ where you’ll find an array of delicate & pretty designs alongside wardrobe staples to carry you through to Spring.

Empire Line Dress

Our new empire line paint palette dress will look beautiful paired with our sprinkle button cardi in deep orchard, featuring delicate button detailing.  We think this outfit wouldn’t be complete without our lightweight & soft ombre scarf.

Mix and MatchAll of our skirts in our new collection are too pretty not to show.  Using both jacquard & cord they all complement our lovely soft tops and cardis.

We’ve been heavily inspired by Scandinavian vintage textiles & folk art for this fresh story, which is bright and cheerful for the New Year.  In this collection you’ll find our bespoke prints created by lino cutting and stamps to give a rustic feel, paired with pretty stripe combinations and textured fabrics.

We hope you love it as much as we do!

A sneaky peek at our SS17 Photoshoot

We’ve just finished our SS17 photoshoot at a secret London location – we do love a good old photoshoot at Mistral HQ!

Photo Shoot 2017

Early start, bacon butties, makeup artist & stylist exploding their kit all over the place and very calm models in the middle of all our creative chaos!

Calm Make Up Artist

We source props from far & wide each shoot, flying in curiosities from all over the world.  Sometimes we also find little gems closer to home, indeed in the attic & garden shed!

Props from far and wide

Our location for this shoot was full of the most amazing furniture & lighting. We couldn’t resist taking a snap of this masterpiece.

Amazing lighting

Our creative team work closely together both pre & post shoot.  A rare shot of them the other side of the camera, Tracey Garreffa (Owner & Creative Director) has worked with our photographer for many years on many fabulous fashion shoots.

A rare photo

Sometimes we also get to eat the props.  That’s the best part of the shoot, who doesn’t love cake!

Who doesn't like to eat cake.

After a long day on set we love the way our stylist pops a makeup brush in her hair, exquisite and picture perfect!

Where did I put that make up brush?

We love print!

We’re a little bit bonkers about print here at Mistral HQ which is why we have the lovely Hannah, our dedicated print designer.

`

Hannah comes in every day to solely think up new ways to create our bespoke Mistral prints. Some days she uses a simple pen & pencil to sketch patterns, however on the more innovative days she can be found stamping various sized vegetables onto parchment in the Head Office kitchen (messy job), her latest escapade using half a lettuce!

Inspired by Scandinavia with a Mistral twist our bestselling Scandi print was created with ink from our colour palette chosen for the AW16 season.

We then print onto the fabric chosen to check it works with the textures & cut of the design, in this case the Scandi Dandi Cord dress.

Hannah uses a variety of printing techniques to create our British designs, from lino cutting, stamping and pen to watercolours and using utensils (rollers, twigs, sponges) to create amazing textures and shapes.

Inspired by her surroundings, Hannah can be found climbing mountains at weekends or tinkering on her Piano. Having spent time training in New York Hannah now prefers the English countryside & especially National Trust houses to seek her creative originality.

And we’re very grateful for that at Mistral HQ!
