The local company, based in Calne , was founded in 1991 by Father and Daughter team, John Lewis and Tracey Garreffa with their first shop located  in Malmesbury. Mistral which has 12 stand-alone stores across the South of England, and eight other major stockists, is celebrating a re-branding and expansion plan, despite the credit crunch. It has recently launched a great new ecommerce site www.mistral-online.com to offer the range to a wider customer base.

Mistral, which has 12 stand-alone stores across the country, and eight other major stockists, decided to undertake the marketing initiative, which includes a new ecommerce website and a re-branding exercise, in order to raise its profile and in response to customer demand.

The company is headed by father and daughter team, John Lewis and Tracey Garreffa, who explained the reasoning behind the rebranding and new website.

Tracey said: "Our collection is made exclusively for Mistral and it was very important to us, when creating the new image and web site, that we kept our customer in mind. We recognise that our customers love us for our personal and exclusive feel and we needed to make sure we kept that at the heart of our look, whilst offering them the flexibility of online shopping which is a must."

"We don't keep large volumes of every item of stock in store like many larger high street stores as we're catering for a more discerning client who wants to feel individual and special when they're wearing our clothes."

John added: "Despite the current credit crunch, we're actually planning on expanding and have plans to open new stores. The new website also enables us to sell our collections online which means that we can reach a wider audience."

The website was created by web design and marketing company, Createanet.

For Createanet, the challenge was to maintain the uniqueness of Mistral while also creating a recognisable brand image.                                              

Managing director, Kevin King, explained: "It was important while undertaking the creation of the new website that the individuality of Mistral was maintained. A recognisable brand also needed to be developed which reaffirmed Mistral's quality and commitment to customer service."
