Editor’s Choice – Embrace The Clash

Mixing patterns and colours with Mistral

No matter what your style everyone can embrace a spot of pattern clashing this autumn. It has proved to be one of this year’s key trends on and off the runway, so why not start playfully layering patterns and colours before the year is out!

Try a patterned sweater over one of our skirts? Or maybe our knee-length dresses and tunics are more your style? Experiment. Embrace your personality and inject a bit of youthful energy into your wardrobe this winter.

The key to making this trend work for you is to be aware when mixing prints, stick to similar colour palettes ensuring you have at least one focal colour, and then you can start adding in some contrasting colours and patterns. Remember just have fun with it.

The editor’s choice outfit features our brand new redcurrant skirt with a festive colour palette of hedgerow greens, bright reds and rich blues. It’s a great piece which works fantastically well with our stripe jumper and really pulls this outfit together.

This skirt also happens to go really well with a number of our other jumpers, including, but not limited to our new green cable balloon sleeve jumper to add some textural contrast or our blue cable jumper pulling out the green and red tones in the skirt. Honestly when it comes to this trend the possibilities are endless…

If you’re feeling a little less bold, why not layer up with a super soft Hetty Henley or boat neck tee for a more classic autumn look. Alternatively, why not add a classic block colour coat to temper out the more intense print combinations.

Our check coat is an easy way to break into the print-mixing game too and our gorgeous limited edition check coat is a real winner to work with mixing and matching patterns. Alice Tulip of Black Tulip Beauty is a real advocate of this coat.
