A Game of Mistral musings and a little bit of Summer sale madness
Note – No Spoilers for those that haven’t seen all of the seasons yet….
So it’s been just over a month since Game of Thrones ended and some of us at Head Office have started to get withdrawal symptoms.
…I know there’s potentially four camps regarding GOT (or maybe more)?
1) Those who have watched it since the beginning, week in week out.
2) Those who have never watched it and never intend to.
3) Those who like me waited until Christmas last year and binge watched it until the new season started. Yes I’m ashamed to say we didn’t go out or speak to many people outside of GOT for quite a few months.
4) Those that are just starting to watch from the beginning (I promise there are no spoilers in this blog)!
Initially, I just didn’t think GOT would be my thing but after falling ill over the Christmas holidays last year my husband and I decided “what the heck” and that was it…
So, in my moments of sadness and withdrawal (thankfully Killing Eve and The Handmaidens Tale have restarted) my mind wandered, and I thought what better thing to do than “mistral up” some of our favourite GOT characters! Stick with me…..
So please let me present our current day GOT favourites makeover. Which is your favourite?
Queen of savages and commander of an army of freed slaves, a force to be reckoned with. Strong, persistent, inquisitive, and quietly and intensely determined.
All she needs now is a smile!
“Little Bird” initially described Lady Sansa Stark quite accurately. She was definitely at the front of the line when someone handed out rose-tinted glasses and she appears to have snagged herself on more than one pair.
Socially aware, with an appetite to withstand pain as opposed to give it, despite tragedies she is still basically the same optimistic, friendly person, albeit with a toughness increased by experience.
All she needs now is to book her flight away from the cold North and into a warmer climate and relax.
The quiet and kind translator who overcame suffering to find a voice. Missandei’s emotional intelligence and compassion are what drew people to her.
She is an old soul filled with wisdom and those around her benefited from her calm, balanced nature and found solace in her advice.
We love her style and have seen her wear a very similar style skirt to our own Mistral skirt so we’ve matched her in an Airy Fairy Dobby Skirt Eclipse (currently 20% off in the sale).
As someone who took seriously both parts of the title “Queen Mother”, Cersei emerged large and in charge, like the school principal you wish you never had.
Not known for her fairness to those whom she deemed undeserving, her only rule seemed to be: ‘Those who are not family, are enemies waiting to be wiped out’. What Cersei needed was to be taken away into a mellow environment, so we’ve matched her with our Japanese Pond Dress, (currently 20% off in our sale) layered with our Faye Cardi in Slate (currently 40% off in our sale).
Let’s hope this makes her a bit more chilled, happier and less vengeful.
Brienne of Tarth
Introverted and shy, nothing dragged Brienne out of her shell more than the prospect of a loved one in danger. She was a warrior.
Brienne lived to serve and protect those worthy of her trust and respect.
We think she deserves a night out with a nice 3 course meal and a glass of wine.
So there we have it, our Mistral homage to GOT, (I’m soon to be carted out of the office in a straight jacket).
Have a happy Mistral week and don’t forget to check out our fantastic Summer Sale (Summer is on it’s way at the end of the week, I promise!).
If you don’t hear from me next week please send reinforcements to break me out GOT style.
