Be more Chic than Shriek this Halloween !

As we come to the end of October, as if by magic the temperature drops. Trailing closely behind comes the first autumn frost, the annual putting away of the summer wardrobe closely follows, it’s always started with the best intentions, folding everything neatly Marie Kondo Style but ultimately ending in a frenzied panic of jamming clothes into the wardrobe. The first pair of boots, perfect and versatile (they will definitely not give me blisters this year…) crispy fallen leaves, steaming hot bowls of soup, pumpkins take a breath and who could forget Halloween.

October is one of our favourite months here at Mistral, finally whipping out the snuggly knitwear, layering jumpers over absolutely everything, hot chocolate with all the trimmings and dark evenings under a blanket watching films. As we gravitate to the warm glow of our homes, naturally our minds turn to food. Baking to be exact. There’s nothing like a freshly baked cake on the table to bring your family and friends together. Here is one of our favourite seasonal cake recipes, evocative of that hygge mid-autumn feeling, with a spooky twist of course!

Seasonal Style

Stuck on what to wear this Halloween? Maybe you are staying in, trick or treating with the little ones or even going to a party! (on a school night, look at you!) Do not fret, we have it covered.

Picture this, an invitation arrives in mid October, panic stricken you’re hoping for a relaxed casual affair. Naturally it’s for a Halloween party plus all the bells and whistles… like a lot of us (we’re all really busy!) you’ll leave it to the very last possible second to find an outfit.

We all know the drill, frantically digging through your wardrobe to find even the ghost of a possible Halloween costume. All that digging and all you can find are old mothballs and all the other socks, you know the ones.

Fear not! Let us take your hand and find the perfect way of subtly injecting a little Halloween spirit into your outfits.

Gorgeous gourds, our pretty pumpkin print is perfect for a more sophisticated Halloween look. Think more chic than shriek.

Uniquely understated, this pumpkin print shirt transcends the spooky season with regards to everyday wearability. However, pair it with our Maggie Moleskin Skirt in Roobias Tea to create a menacingly monochrome look.
