The Perfect Autumn Reads

There’s nothing better when the days are getting shorter (and cooler) to snuggle up on the sofa in your betty jeans and slouchy jumper with a hot chocolate, some snacks and a really good read and just become totally immersed.

I’ve challenged myself to a technology free weekend next weekend and to immerse myself in a really good book, are you up for the challenge too?  Ignore the facebook bleeps and get stuck in.

So I’ve chosen Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments, the follow up to the Handmaid’s Tale, I have to admit I couldn’t get into the first book but loved the tv series so fingers crossed this will be worth the down time to read.  If not I will be reverting to others on the reading list below.

To help I’ve surveyed our office and shop staff and come up with our top 10 picks.  Whether you’re in the mood for something romantic, funny, a thriller, murder mystery or a lighthearted read our list will hopefully have something for you.  Please feel free to share your recommendations too on our facebook post (after your technology free weekend) so we can all enjoy each other’s recommendations.

Ian Rankin - In a House of Lies
No Time Like the Past
This is Going to Hurt
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
The Help
The Night Circus
Dear Mrs Bird
Everything I know about Love

If you don’t have a huge amount of time to read a full novel this weekend here are a few suggestions of books you can dip into and read segments at your leisure.

We also recommend checking out Bert’s Books for recommendations – every month they sift through all the new releases to pick out the very best books for each of the bundles that they have on our site.

Happy Reading
